Sarah Gott
Sarah Gott lived and painted for many years in the Patten District. Sarah's paintings briefly returned to Patten Hill in August, 2008 for a show of her abstract work at Little Big House Gallery.
Sarah Gott has explored many forms to express delight in our multidimensional universe on two-dimensional surfaces: realistic figures and portraits; still lifes; Impressionistic and Post Impressionistic landscapes; and abstractions. She says of her abstracts, "Often using both hands and closing my eyes, I respond to a situation, like a seismographic needle to tremors. Lines and shapes appear with little or no conscious direction in surprising and entertaining ways. I'm drawn to Japanese calligraphic brush painting for its immediacy and vitality. A wordless transmission takes place that excites and inspires."
